Research at IGTE

IGTE is a broad research center addressing energy engineering issues in the fields of building energetics, smart city concepts, HVAC systems and energy storage.

The IGTE team members primarily research in the fields of the generation, distribution, transfer and storage of energy for buildings and residential districts.

Chair of Heating and Ventilation

The team members of the Chair of Heating and Ventilation primarily do research in the field of components and systems of technical building equipment, in the field of heat transfer and refrigeration technology as well as in the field of energy supply for buildings and residential districts.

Chair of Energy Storage

The team members of the Chair of Energy Storage work on the scientific fundamentals for the design of energy storages and develop innovative concepts for the storage of thermal and electrical energy (in cooperation with the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics at the German Aerospace Center).
Thermochemical and electrochemical energy storage are core in their research activities.
