The IGTE testing laboratory at the University of Stuttgart is an independent, impartial testing body accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for the testing of building services components.
The IGTE inspection body is accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 as a Type A inspection body.
Our testing laboratory conducts tests in the following areas:
- Thermal, fluid dynamics, material, and measurement and control properties—including acoustics—of products, components, equipment, processes, and systems related to building services engineering and building energy efficiency
- Measurement and calculation of energy performance indicators under the Energy-related Products Directive (2010/30/EU)
- Testing of space heating systems and energy consumption devices (System 3 for assessing and verifying performance consistency) under Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 laying down harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products (Construction Products Regulation)
Our inspection body conducts inspections in the following areas:
Inspection of new and in-service products, components, equipment, processes, and systems related to building services engineering and building energy efficiency, as well as their production—including quality assurance (WPK)—with regard to thermal, flow, material, and measurement and control properties, and verification of their compliance with specific normative requirements or specific statutory requirements within the framework of certifications under European statutory regulations (EU Construction Products Regulation) or in relation to state building codes (LBO), or with specific requirements on behalf of certification bodies, as well as—based on an expert assessment—with general requirements.
