The aim of the "innoBeLs" project is the development and implementation of innovative economically and ecologically beneficial container concepts for latent heat storage for commercial use in solar cold district heating networks. Currently, latent heat or ice stores mainly use cost-intensive concrete tanks with two heat exchanger coil loops. Their production is relatively energy-intensive, leading to significant greenhouse gas emissions. In contrast, the newly developed innovative container concepts aim to reduce environmental impact and resource consumption by at least 50 % and cut costs by at least 20 %.
